IP Sounpoint Certificate Issue Workaround

For the IP SoundPoint phones, there is a workaround being implemented for those phone to grab new name information and data base (modification made in portal)

To be able to do so, here is what is needed to be done:

1- Factory reset the phone, 
2- Input the VLAN ID 774 in the proper place.


To factory reset the phone, you will be doing the following:

For SoundPoint IP 320, 321, 330. 331, 335, 430, and 450 press and hold the 1, 3, 5, and 7 on the dial pad at the same time

For SoundPoint IP 301, 501, 550, 600, 601, and 650 press and hold the 4, 6, 8, * on the dial pad at the same time



To go in the phone and to verify the proper detail and input the VLAN ID 774 here are the instruction:



    Press the Menu button
    Click Settings
    Click on Advanced
    Enter in the password 2363636 or 456
    Click on Administration Settings
    Click on Network Configuration
    Click on Provisioning Server
    Click on DHCP Menu
    Verify Boot Server is set to Static
    Click Back
    Scroll down to Server Type, verify it shows FTP
    Scroll down to Server Address and ensure the correct server is listed: 216.254.136.35
    Click Back
    Click on Ethernet Menu
    Verify DHCP is Enabled, if not, please enable it
    Scroll down to VLAN Menu and click on it
    VLAN ID should be set to 774
    Set VLAN Filtering to Fixed or Enabled
    Click Back until you get to Save or Save Config
    Give the phone about 1-2 minutes and it should reboot on it's own; if not then manually reboot the phone by unplugging the Ethernet cable from the back of the phone for ten seconds

NOTE: Use the number keys to enter in letters, use the * key for any periods ( . ), the # key for the forward slash ( / ), and the (>>) softkey to delete characters.

Verify Date/Time and extensions are showing correctly.
Place inbound and outbound test calls to verify the phone is working correctly.




If you get fail boot parameter after the reset, you will need to do the following:

-- click on setup
-- click on DHCP menu
-- click boot server - changed to static
-- click back 
-- click on server menu
-- click on server type - changed to FTP
-- click back 
-- click server address - input 216.254.136.35
-- click back
-- click on Ethernet menu
-- click VLAN ID - input 774
-- click back
-- click VLAN filtering - changed to enabled

-- click back until you get exit. click exit and choose save and reboot
